Description

Phurba (Phurwa): The Ritual Dagger of Protection and Transformation

The Phurba, also known as Phurwa, is a powerful ritual object in Tibetan Buddhism and Bon tradition, revered as a spiritual weapon used to subdue negative energies, cut through illusion, and stabilize sacred spaces. It is traditionally associated with wrathful deities like Vajrakilaya (Bajrakilla) and represents the transformation of negative forces into enlightened awareness.

The Phurba is typically crafted in the shape of a three-sided blade, which symbolizes the piercing of the three root poisons—ignorance, attachment, and aversion. The handle often features the face of a deity (such as Vajrakilaya or a protective guardian), and the top may be crowned with a vajra (dorje), symbolizing indestructible compassion and wisdom.

Our Phurba handicrafts are meticulously handmade by skilled Himalayan artisans using traditional materials such as bronze, copper, brass, or silver, often inlaid with turquoise or coral stones. Each piece is not only a work of sacred art but also a functional spiritual tool used in rituals, ceremonies, and meditative practices for protection and energetic purification.

Whether displayed on an altar or used in spiritual practice, the Phurba serves as a powerful symbol of transformation, protection, and inner strength, helping practitioners cut through obstacles on the path to enlightenment.

🔸 Phurba (Vajrakilaya) Mantra:

Om Benza Kili Kilaya Sarwa Bighanem Bam Hung Phat.
