Manjushree, also known as Jampelyang, is the revered Bodhisattva of transcendent wisdom in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. He symbolizes the cutting through of ignorance and delusion, offering the light of clarity, learning, and inner awakening to all beings. Manjushree is considered the embodiment of wisdom (prajñā) and is also deeply respected in Nepalese culture as a mythical figure who drained the Kathmandu Valley to make it habitable.
He is typically depicted seated in meditation or in a dynamic posture, holding a flaming sword in his right hand that slices through ignorance and illusion, and a lotus flower in his left hand which supports a book (Prajñāpāramitā Sutra)—symbolizing ultimate knowledge and enlightened truth.
Our Manjushree handicrafts are handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans using time-honored techniques. These statues are made from bronze, copper, or gold-plated alloys, and are often embellished with turquoise, coral, or other semi-precious stones, capturing the serene strength and symbolic richness of Manjushree.
Placing a Manjushree statue in a home, study area, school, temple, or meditation space is believed to enhance intelligence, creativity, and spiritual insight—making it a perfect gift for scholars, students, and spiritual seekers.
