Manjushree – The Bodhisattva of Wisdom and Insight

Manjushree, also known as the Bodhisattva of Transcendent Wisdom, is one of the most iconic figures in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Revered for his embodiment of wisdom, eloquence, and clarity of mind, Manjushree is believed to cut through ignorance and illuminate the path to enlightenment.

He is traditionally depicted as a youthful figure seated in meditation or in dynamic posture, holding a flaming sword (Khadga) in his right hand—symbolizing the cutting of ignorance and duality—and a lotus flower in his left, which supports the Prajnaparamita Sutra, the text of ultimate wisdom.
